Clerk of City of Lawrence

I've lived in the City of Lawrence for more than 45 years and have served the City for 15 years. I bring more than 35 years of records and financial management to the Clerk's office.

Because mine is an office of one person, I may be elsewhere at meetings or coordinating with other city officials or citizens when you call or visit. Please leave me your contact information, and I’ll call you as quickly as I can.

Lawrence is one of the fastest-growing communities in Indiana, almost doubling in size in the last 17 years to a current population of more than 46,000. Citizens, business owners and other interested persons should contact Kathy for information on a variety of topics.

As the City Clerk, I am responsible for:

1. Managing and securing the records of the City of Lawrence.
   
2. Conducting research and assisting others in obtaining information that supports public safety, economic development (including coordination with the Marion County Department of Metropolitan Development on land-use issues) and other city functions.
   
3. Responding to requests for information from citizens, business owners, public-interest groups, the news media, directors of city departments, city employees, community organizations, and representatives of township, county and state governments.
   
4. Assisting in the development of policies, ordinances and other legislation through the Common Council, Committees of the Common Council, Board of Public Works, Board of Parks & Recreation, Fire Merit Commission, Fire Pension Board, Police Merit Commission and the Police Pension Board. Kathy maintains records tracking the deliberations and decisions of each of these.

The clerks office also maintains the official city ordinances and minutes of the Common Council and other official bodies. I also maintain the City of Lawrence Municipal Code and secure the official City Seal.
