Our Community The City of Lawrence is a growing community conveniently located just north of Indianapolis with easy access to major interstate highways including I-69, I-70, I-65 and I-74. For businesses and commercial purposes, it is also located less than three hours from Chicago, Cincinnati, Columbus and Louisville and only 20 minutes from the Indianapolis International Airport.
Thanks to its army past the City of Lawrence is a rich fabric of multicultural threads woven into the finished cloth known as community. Citizens of Pacific Island background join Asian, Latino, and African American and White persons to celebrate every day life. Citizens of all incomes meet and greet and add to the finished cloth of our community.
The City of Lawrence has over twice as many minority firms as the state average, and has 38% more Woman owned firms. Very few communities in America with a population of 40,000 have citizens that can experience such a rich multicultural experience as do citizens of Lawrence.
