The City of Lawrence Sanitation employees work diligently in all kinds of weather conditions removing trash from the city to maintain clean streets and neighborhoods.   The service provided at curb-side includes collection and disposal of normal trash, heavy trash and tree limbs and brush.

Customers also receive seasonal removal services that include curb-side leaf removal and Christmas Season collection.

The City of Lawrence is embarking upon a program beginning in mid-December 2009 through August 2010 to more efficiently improve service to its customers. Every customer can help make this program successful by following a few simple requirements. 

Each residence (not businesses, apartments, etc.) will be supplied with a 96 gallon trash container (the official name is Toter) to be used for placing trash for collection.
