Welcome to the City of Lawrence Police Department’s web site. Our primary goal is to protect and serve the approximate 44,000 residents of Lawrence and those that do business and work in our city.

The city police force has 58 full time and 30 reserve officers who respond to more than 30,500 calls a year. They are on the job 365 days a year, 24/7.

If you have any concerns or questions, or are interested in having an officer speak at your school or at a civic or neighborhood group meeting, please contact our administrative offices. Prevention is the best way to address crime, and we are glad to meet with groups interested in learning more about our work.
