Lisa Chavis was voted President At-Large of the City of Lawrence Common Council in January of 2018. She is the first-ever female African American President in the history of Lawrence. This February, we are sharing stories from our Lawrence residents, business owners, counselors, artists, teachers, and public servants about what Black History Month means to them.
