LFD Station 38 Sneak Peak
May 25, 2023

Construction of LFD Station 38 is progressing, and the new building is on schedule to open later this fall.
This 17,700-square-foot fire station (located at 4450 N. McCoy St.) includes a 5-bay apparatus area, 14 dorm living quarters, 2 dayrooms, a dining room, kitchen, fitness area, turnout gear room, workshop, laundry and decontamination area, and multiple offices.
Mayor Steve Collier and Deputy Mayor Dave Hofmann checked in on the progress along with City of Lawrence Fire Department Chief Dino Batalis.
