Flag raised commemorating 242nd Marine Corps anniversary

Citizens and staff gathered at the Government Center to raise the Marines' flag, honoring the 242nd anniversary of the Marine Corps. Standing in for Mayor Collier is Captain Brandon Stone, a USMC veteran, Lawrence business owner, and long-serving Reserve Officer with LPD. Youth Pastor, Brett Goodrich from Horizon Christian Fellowship gave the blessing. Sergeant Catt and Sergeant Glass from the I & I Detachment, Communications Company, 14th Marines, 4th Marine Division raised the flag today and Grace Renee Eckelbarger sang the national anthem.
