Lawrence Utilities provides help to Kensington Farms Butterfly Garden
May 26, 2023

Lawrence Utilities provided water to help save the Kensington Farms Butterfly Garden this week, and Liz Masur of the Lawrence Butterfly Project sent in this nice thank you note!
"I would like to give a shout out to Kenny and his colleague for taking time out of their busy day before a holiday weekend to help water the Kensington Farms Butterfly Garden. It has been really dry and the garden needed to be watered.
When contacted about the possibility of accessing the nearby fire hydrant to water the flowers, Superintendent Scott Salsbery and Andrew Hall immediately said they would look into it. Within a day they made arrangements and the native plants garden, which was installed to provide pollinator friendly habitat and a way station for migrating monarch butterflies, is no longer thirsty!
Thank you, City of Lawrence, for helping our community be sustainable. Your actions to aid the local environment are greatly appreciated!" - Liz
