Update on Dry Branch Creek

June 16, 2020

City of Lawrence officials were informed by Ron Crider, DPW Director for McCordsville, that IDEM has instructed them that it is no longer necessary to pump water out of Dry Branch Creek. They will be dismantling the pumping operation today. The Wastewater Inspector from IDEM evaluated the receiving water on June 15 and the D.O. (dissolved oxygen), pH and ammonia levels in Dry Branch were found to be acceptable. Due to this, and due to the fact that the facility has now returned into compliance with its NPDES permit, the Town of McCordsville was instructed that they could cease mitigation activities in Dry Branch Creek.
