Lawrence Past Mayors Ceremony

Today, we gathered at the Lawrence Government Center to honor the seven individuals who have served as mayor of our city since 1960 — a tribute timed with the 65th anniversary of Lawrence’s transition from a town to a city.

Mayor Deb Whitfield was joined by former mayors Dean Jessup and Steve Collier, alongside family members of past mayors, to unveil a new memorial commemorating their service and lasting contributions to our city.
