PUBLIC NOTICE
The City of Lawrence Fire Department will begin accepting applications for employment for the following positions beginning February 1, 2017.
FIREFIGHTER / EMT
Applications may be obtained from Fire Headquarters: 9001 E. 59th Street, Suite 204, Lawrence, IN between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, or online on the city’s website, cityoflawrence.org. All initial forms must be turned into Fire Headquarters no later than 4:00 PM on Monday, March 6, 2017. All successful candidates MUST be at least 21 years of age and be able to meet state Public Employee Retirement Fund (PERF) requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- U.S. citizen
- 21-35 years old at time of appointment
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- No felony convictions
In exchange for consideration of the Candidate’s application for employment by the City, and as a condition of continued employment, should the Candidate be employed by the City as a Firefighter/EMT, the Candidate will:
· Successfully complete all required training as set forth by National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) for Firefighter I & II, as well as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training as set forth by the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS); training provided by City of Lawrence Fire Department upon employment.
· Maintain State certification as an EMT for the duration of employment by the City.
