DPW crews fill 1199 pot holes in first seven weeks of 2019

February 12, 2019

DPW Director of Streets Jim Heneghan said his crews were out filling holes on 56th Street and Lee Road yesterday. Last week, the crews filled the holes along 46th Street, he said. As of February 14, there have been 1199 holes filled along the city's streets. Heneghan said his crews will be out filling the holes whenever the temperatures allow for the repairs to be made. On Thursday, when the weather was clear, DPW crews filled 173 more holes along the roads. On Wednesday, DPW was able to obtain hot-mix asphalt and used eight tons repairing potholes. Heneghan said DPW focuses on high-volume primary roads and will then move to the repairs on secondary roads and subdivisions.
