November 22, 2019

Today, Mayor Steve Collier cut the blue ribbon for the new Lawrence Police Department Headquarters. LPD Chief David Hofmann, City Controller/Deputy Mayor Jason Fenwick, and Mayor Collier unveiled the words “LAWRENCE POLICE DEPARTMENT” above the facility. Located just south of the railroad at 5150 N. Post Road, the new 37,000 square foot LPD headquarters is capable of meeting the community’s complex public safety and law enforcement needs. The $11.9 million building includes the City’s dispatch center, interview rooms, a K-9 kennel, a garage to house equipment and vehicles, a fitness center, and a 112-seat community room.
