City of Lawrence Trash, Recycling, Bulk & Yard Waste Notice

April 2, 2020

As a result of COVID-19-related governmental declarations of emergency and regulations, there are significant shifts in solid waste and recycling flow. This requests for service changes is due to volume increases at the residential curb, and the need to prioritize on MSW collection, which is more important than non-essential collection like bulk or yard waste.

To ensure the health and safety of our community the following temporary changes will be made to residential trash and recycling collection in Lawrence.   These changes will take place on Friday March 27, 2020 and will be in effect until May 1, 2020 and may be extended if warranted.   While basic trash and recyclables pick up will continue, the City of Lawrence and Republic Services have temporarily suspended bulk item and yard waste pick up beginning on Friday, March 27th.  Trash and recyclables collection will continue through their respective carts. Trash is to be bagged and recyclables kept loose.
