NOTICE: LAWRENCE UTILITIES WILL NOT RESUME NON-PAYMENT WATER DISCONNECTIONS UNTIL SEPTEMBER OF 2020. THE FIRST SHUT OFF DATE WILL BE ON SEPTEMBER 2, 2020, UNLESS WE PROVIDE NOTICE THAT WE WILL FURTHER SUSPEND NON-PAYMENT DISCONNECTIONS. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND AND ENCOURAGE OUR CUSTOMERS WHO MAY BE BEHIND ON PAYMENTS AND CARRYING CHARGES IN ARREARS TO PAY AS MUCH OF THEIR BILLS AND ARREARS AS POSSIBLE TO AVOID NON-PAYMENT DISCONNECTION WHEN WE DO RESUME THEM. ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE AGENCIES SUCH AS THE LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP TRUSTEE’S OFFICE, UNITED WAY, 211 ASSISTANCE, ETC. WHO MAY BE CONTACTED FOR ASSISTANCE. LAWRENCE UTILITIES ALSO OFFERS PAYMENT EXTENSION PLANS AND YOU MAY CONTACT THE BUSINESS OFFICE AT 317-542-0511 FOR ASSISTANCE.

 

ALSO, PLEASE NOTE THAT LAWRENCE UTILITIES DOES NOT AND WILL NOT BE CALLING CUSTOMERS SOLICITING PAYMENT OF A UTILITY BILL IN ORDER TO AVOID NON-PAYMENT DISCONNECTION! IT HAS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THERE ARE PHONE CALLS BEING MADE FROM SCAMMERS STATING THAT THEY ARE “LAWRENCE UTILITIES” AND HAVE ALSO MANAGED TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE THE CALL IS COMING FROM OUR BUSINESS NUMBER (317-542-0511). PLEASE DO NOT ENGAGE WITH THESE PEOPLE. SIMPLY HANG UP. OUR ONLY NOTIFICATION FOR NON-PAYMENT DISCONNECTION IS THE USUAL RED “DISCONNECT” BILL. WE HAVE NOT CHANGED THAT PRACTICE DUE TO COVID ISSUES, AS THEY MAY TRY TO CONVINCE YOU.
