EMERGENCY NEED for blood donations!
A message from
Versiti Blood Center of Indiana
: "The entire blood community has experienced unprecedented challenges since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. At Versiti Blood Center of Indiana, we’re concerned that the situation could become more dire as we enter the flu season. We are currently not able to provide our hospital partners with the usual supply of blood products. Patients’ lives could be at risk, particularly if trauma situations occur, if we are not able to maintain an adequate blood supply. Because of this, we are declaring an EMERGENCY NEED for blood donation.
Versiti Blood Center of Indiana provides lifesaving blood and blood products to more than 80 hospitals throughout the state. I strongly encourage you to schedule a blood drive with Versiti to ensure that our hospital partners have the lifesaving blood products they need to treat patients.
Due to this critical need, we are hosting an emergency blood drive in Lawrence this month. We will have our bloodmobile at the Benjamin Harrison YMCA on Tuesday October 27th. See information below to sign up, and join us in saving lives."
