Introducing the Lawrence Advisory Council on Disabilities (LACD):
Janette Jackson – City of Lawrence, Director of Human Resources and Minority & Women Business Development
Patty Reed – Parent and Medicaid Waiver Case Manager
Sr. Jackie McCracken – The Village of Merici, Director of Community programs
Kristy Hayes – The Village of Merici, Director of Services
Colleen Renie – The Village of Merici, Executive Director
Karyl Davis – The Village of Merici, Director of Development
The LACD is dedicated to promoting awareness, employment opportunities, and social inclusion at city events, and will continue to foster a culture of equitable experiences for all people with disabilities.
The Council will strive to break down barriers to provide a supportive, welcoming, and accommodating community so that all persons with developmental disabilities can enjoy an inclusive lifestyle.
With the spirit of the newly formed LACD in mind, Mayor Steve Collier has signed a proclamation to make March 2021 Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month!
