Adult Mental Health First Aid Training

The City of Lawrence is partnering with Purdue Extension to offer Adult Mental Health First Aid, an evidence-based course that equips participants with practical skills to recognize and respond to mental health challenges and crises. This course is FREE to attend! The registration fee ($105 value) is sponsored by Health First Indiana Funds provided by the Marion County Public Health Department.

What you’ll learn:

• How to support someone developing a mental health concern or experiencing a crisis

• Signs and symptoms of anxiety, depression, substance use, trauma, and self-injury

• How stigma impacts mental health and substance use

• How to help someone connect with professional support

Course format includes:

• 2 hours of online, self-paced learning*

• 6 hours of in-person instruction led by Purdue Extension staff

• A printed Mental Health First Aid participant manual
