Sewer Capacity Task Force Final Report

Recognizing the City of Lawrence’s current challenges with sanitary sewer capacity, Mayor Deb Whitfield convened a Sewer Capacity Task Force in October 2025. The purpose of the Task Force was to study the issue, explore all available options, and provide recommendations for addressing the City’s future sewer capacity needs.

The Task Force held its inaugural meeting on October 14, 2025, and met weekly on Tuesdays at 4:00 PM. On February 4, 2026, the Task Force presented its Final Report to Mayor Whitfield. That report is available below.
