Paul Wanner

Paul has worked for the City of Lawrence for 35 years. He started as seasonal help with the Lawrence Parks Department for one summer in 1989 cutting grass, striping soccer, and baseball fields before he was offered a position with the Lawrence Street Department where he worked for 12 years plowing snow, patching streets, cutting grass, and working on storm sewers and other infrastructure projects. He then transferred to the Utilities in 2001 as a Water Department laborer before working his way to Foreman and then Water Operations Manager. In late 2015 he was promoted to Director of Operations for the Water and Sewer Utility before stepping into the Superintendent’s position in 2024.
