Michael Williams is a dedicated fire service professional born and raised in Indianapolis. He is a graduate of Roncalli High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in Advertising from Ball State University, where he also competed as a member of the university’s football program.

After beginning his career in marketing, Michael joined the Lawrence Fire Department in 2008, where he has demonstrated consistent leadership and a strong commitment to professional development. Throughout his tenure, he has served on multiple departmental committees and holds numerous certifications including PEER Fitness trainer, Public Safety Diver, HazMat, and Confined Space. 

In January 2024, Michael was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and in June 2025, he was appointed Division Chief of Training. In this role, he continues to focus on advancing training standards, supporting firefighter development, and promoting operational excellence within the department.

Outside of departmental duties, Michael is an Executive Board Member and Primary Instructor with the Indiana Smoke Diver Association, where he delivers elite, survival-focused firefighter training and mindset coaching. His passion for continuous improvement and peer development continues to drive innovation and resilience within the fire service.

Michael and his wife Lauren were married in 2010 and reside on the southside of Indianapolis.
