Local 416 and City sign agreement through 2020

Mayor Steve Collier and Lawrence Fire Department Chief Dino Batalis observed the official signing of the contract between the City of Lawrence and Local #416 February 14 in the Mayor’s Conference Room at the Lawrence Government Center.

Officials from both sides worked diligently the last 13 months to negotiate and agree on terms for a contract for the firefighters. Batalis noted this is the first agreement since 2010 for LFD and the city. He added the union passed the contract unanimously last week.
