Coast Guard's anniversary recognition takes place

In recognition of the 277th anniversary of the U.S. Coast Guard, citizens and officials gathered at the Government Center for a flag raising ceremony. Blue Star Banner Program Coordinator Mary Jo Rothenbush organized the event which included a prayer by Chaplain Terry Long while Grace Renee Eckelbarger sang the national anthem. Mayor Steve Collier provided the welcome to the group and Rothenbush shared the history of the Coast Guard. DPW Director of Administration & Code Bill Anthony and DPW Director David Lotts raised the flag during the ceremony honoring the service of the Coast Guard.
