Kiwanis honor Youth Corps at prayer breakfast

Members of Lawrence United Methodist Church's Youth Corps were honored at this morning's prayer breakfast of the Lawrence Kiwanis at the Sterrett Center. Thirty teens are volunteering to serve this community during their summer break through LUMC's annual service program. Kiwani President Chris Barnthouse presented a $500 check to Youth Corps Director Sharon Johnson to support the Youth Corps program. Teens enjoyed breakfast with the Kiwanis and heard Fred Bishop, a retired pastor and Vietnam Veteran address the gathering.
