Mayor recognizes Batalis for his leadership of Firefighters Family Assistance Fund

Mayor Steve Collier presented Fire Chief Dino Batalis with a proclamation and plaque thanking him for 30 years of servant leadership of the LFD Firefighters' Family Assistance Fund during last Friday evening's prep for distribution. Batalis and two other firefighters initiated the fund in 1988 and were able to help three families with groceries and toys for the holidays. This year, more than 200 families received boxes of groceries and toys for their children.
