Employment Empowerment Project
March 29, 2022
Calling all local employers! The Lawrence Advisory Council on Disabilities (LACD) is looking for businesses willing to participate in the Employment Empowerment Project. This initiative creates a new and inclusive approach to the employee hiring process through the use of video. For many individuals with disabilities, the standard online job application process can be difficult and overwhelming. We are looking for businesses that would like to participate by creating simple, short videos of available job openings within their companies. These can be recorded with a cell phone, highlighting the job and key highlights of the position. This will be a visual job posting.
For more information about this project or to participate, please email Karyl Davis at kdavis@villageofmerici.org.
The LACD is dedicated to promoting awareness, employment opportunities, and social inclusion at city events, and will continue to foster a culture of equitable experiences for all people with disabilities.
