Holy Cross Students Visit Lawrence Government Center

Nearly 50 third grade students, accompanied by teachers and parents from Holy Cross Lutheran School, visited with Mayor Collier and other city officials during a field trip to the Lawrence Government Center this morning.

Our visitors learned a little bit about how municipal government works and toured the building. Deputy Chief of Fire Operations Jim Hardie gave them some fire safety tips from the City of Lawrence Fire Department.

Then, they traveled to the Lawrence Police Department just a few blocks away. There, they toured the HQ and got to meet some of our officers, detectives and 911 dispatchers.
