Lawrence Awarded $600,000 Stormwater Grant from OCRA
February 23, 2023
Lawrence Mayor Steve Collier, City Engineer Sri Venugopalan, Utilities Superintendent Scott Salsbery and Streets Director Jim Heneghan are pleased to announce the City of Lawrence is the recipient of a $600,000 grant to replace storm water infrastructure in the Brookside Park Neighborhood, from 52nd Street to 54th Street and Richardt Street to Kercheval Drive.
This project will bring new storm sewers, inlets, and new paving of neighborhood streets to this area later this summer.
“I am so proud of the leaders across Indiana that are committed to improving the quality of life of their communities,” said Indiana Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch in today’s announcement. “I look forward to seeing the completed projects and the benefits they will have for years to come.”
“Congratulations to each of these 22 communities on being awarded this grant funding,” said Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) Executive Director Denny Spinner. “Community Development Block Grants can have a transformational impact on a community, and I applaud all those taking advantage of this opportunity.”
Mayor Collier thanked and congratulated his administrative team for working so hard to win this generous OCRA grant! More great progress in Lawrence!
