Battle of the Chosin Reservoir

November 12, 2025

Located at Veterans Memorial Park (12150 E. 62nd St.), the Battle of the Chosin Reservoir by Indiana artist William E. Arnold depicts three soldiers—one injured, one assisting, and one standing watch.

Created in 1994, this life-sized wire sculpture captures both the hardship and heroism of those who fought in the freezing winter of 1950, where U.S. forces endured impossible conditions and fought their way to safety against overwhelming odds.

On this Veterans Day, we honor the courage and sacrifice of all who have served — including the “Chosin Few,” survivors of one of the most brutal battles of the Korean War.
