Mayor Whitfield Names Housing Ready Task Force

MAYOR WHITFIELD NAMES HOUSING READY TASK FORCE 

LAWRENCE, IN – Following on her announcement during her State of the City Address on April 23, Lawrence Mayor Deb Whitfield has named the members of her Housing Ready Task Force. “Here in Lawrence, we seek a thoughtful, more progressive approach to develop policies which will ensure that our city will have an environment where all types of housing can be developed and thrive; in short, as its name suggests, we seek to become a housing ready city”, the Mayor said.

Members of the Task Force will include Lawrence City Council members Liz Masur, and Tyrrell Giles; Lawrence resident and affordable housing expert Alison Cole; Lacey Everett, Director of Political Affairs for MIBOR Realtor® Association and Lawrence resident; and Judy Dages, Realtor® and Lawrence resident; and Renea Rafala, Interim DPW Director for the City will serve as an Ex-Officio member. The Task Force will be coordinated by Jim Perron, Director of Communications for Fund Development for the City. The Mayor said more Task Force members may be added as needed.

The Mayor looks forward to welcoming the Task Force members at their inaugural meeting on Thursday, May 15th at 2pm at the Lawrence Government Center.
