I take pride and celebrate my heritage and being a black woman

February 14, 2023

"Black History Month is a time to shine light on our ancestors who have paved the way for our future. It reminds others of our contribution to this country and nation. We lift up and celebrate our culture in many ways. As a parent of now young adults, it is important for them to see and hear about our culture and learn about Black Americans and Black History that is not being taught at school. I take pride and celebrate my heritage and being a black woman, not just for one month but all year long."
