Read Across America Week

Today, Mayor Deb Whitfield joined 4th graders at Mary Castle Elementary School to celebrate Read Across America Week! She read Because of You, John Lewis, a powerful story about courage, leadership, and making a difference.

Mayor Whitfield was among an incredible group of guest readers—including community leaders, service members, MSD of Lawrence Township personnel, and the Lawrence North High School Girls Basketball State Champions—who helped make the day special!

Read Across America Week reminds us of the importance of literacy and the joy of books. Let’s continue to inspire young readers and celebrate the stories that shape us!
