Statement on Fallen Beech Grove Police Officer

“I am heartbroken by the tragic shooting of two Beech Grove police officers and the devastating loss of one of those brave individuals. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the fallen officer’s family, loved ones, fellow officers, and the entire Beech Grove community as they grieve this unimaginable loss. We also continue to hold the injured officer in our thoughts and wish them strength and healing.
Public safety officials make extraordinary sacrifices every day, willingly putting their lives on the line to protect our communities. Their courage, service, and commitment remind us of the risks they face in performing their duties. The City of Lawrence stands in solidarity with the Beech Grove Police Department and all first responders as we honor the life, service, and sacrifice of this officer.”
