Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month

At the March 2 Common Council meeting, Mayor Deb Whitfield proclaimed March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in the City of Lawrence.

The proclamation was presented in partnership with the Lawrence Advisory Council on Disabilities, City Liaison Janette Jackson, and Board President Macy Pohl. It reaffirms the City’s commitment to inclusion, acceptance, and equal opportunities to learn, work, live, and thrive in our community.

The Lawrence Advisory Council on Disabilities works to raise awareness and address barriers impacting residents with disabilities.
