Kingsboro Neighborhood Improvements Underway

The City of Lawrence and Lawrence Utilities are moving forward with major infrastructure improvements in the Kingsboro neighborhood near 46th St and Post Rd.

The work will happen in phases, with utility improvements taking place before the neighborhood streets are completely repaved.

Planned improvements include:
• New water mains throughout the neighborhood
• Rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewers
• Inspection and repairs to the storm sewer system
• Repaving of neighborhood streets after the utility work is complete

The water main and sanitary sewer project is currently scheduled to begin later this year, with substantial completion anticipated in June 2027. Storm sewer improvements are already underway.

This project will provide Kingsboro with improved water infrastructure, rehabilitated sanitary sewers, better storm drainage and newly paved streets.
