Mayor Whitfield to Present Proposed 2027 Budget to Lawrence Common Council

Lawrence, IN - Mayor Deb Whitfield will present her proposed 2027 budget to the Lawrence Common Council at its regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wed., Sept. 16, in the Public Assembly Room at the Lawrence Government Center, 9001 E. 59th St.

Despite the fiscal constraints facing local governments across Indiana because of SEA 1, Whitfield said her administration’s prudent fiscal management has positioned the City of Lawrence to deliver positive news in the proposed 2027 Civil City Budget.

“Our administration has navigated these challenging fiscal waters effectively, and I am pleased to share positive news about the proposed 2027 budget,” said Mayor Whitfield. “I look forward to working constructively with our Common Council to set a positive course for Lawrence in 2027 and beyond.”

Whitfield said the proposed budget reflects her administration’s continued commitment to sound fiscal management while maintaining the services and investments that matter most to Lawrence residents.

The budget presentation will be followed by opportunities for the Common Council to review and discuss the proposal as the city moves through the 2027 budget process.

The meeting is open to the public and can be watched live.
